BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Birchwood Camp is a welcoming camp community and a ministry of the United Methodist Church in Alaska. CAMP LOCATION: We are located 30 minutes north of Anchorage on 160 acres of beautiful birch & spruce forest, with a view of the Chugach mountains and a 30 acre lake.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have 6 cozy log cabins with bunk beds and mattresses. The cabins have electricity; campers use a centralized bath house.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: In operation since 1961, Birchwood Camp is a welcoming community and a ministry of the United Methodist Church in Alaska. We practice kindness, acceptance, respect, cooperation, outdoor learning and play. Our camps provide safe spaces for spiritual formation, genuine community, and character development. We are accredited by the American Camp Association, which establishes best practices for camp. We follow these health, safety and program standards to ensure that campers have a positive and safe experience at Birchwood camp.
CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Counselor in Training program for teens ages 16-18.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Scholarships are available through our Birchwood Camp Scholarship fund. Applications are available online.

BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: King's Lake Camp is a place where campers can learn more about the world around them while participating in activities such as hiking, archery, swimming, boating, singing, and more! We offer a variety of camps for different ages as well, including camps for music and teens!

CAMP FACILITIES: Children sleep in a cabin with other kids, with access to a nice central bathhouse. Activities take place around camp at locations such as the Archery Range, the Rec Hall, a grass field for games, and of course, the awesome King's Lake for swimming and boating. Meals are served in our dining hall overlooking the lake.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Salvation Army has been running summer camps all over the world for a long time, including over 50 years in Alaska. Our staff are specially trained each year to provide kids with a safe and exciting camp experience.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Scholarships may be available, so check your local Salvation Army Corps for more information.
